South Australia’s beloved George the Farmer children’s book series, written and illustrated by Penola-based author Simone Kain, is set to make its debut in the United States where it will also be included in the US National Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix. The 14th book in the series, Kangaroo Cornfield, will have a potential annual reach of more than 4.8 million students across all 50 states through the National Agriculture in the Classroom network.
The George the Farmer brand, which explores real-world farming practices through books, videos, and music, has already helped educate more than 660,000 school children across Australia and New Zealand through curriculum-aligned resources plus thousands more through the picture storybooks. Created to make agriculture engaging and relatable for kids, the series highlights the importance of food production and sustainability while promoting global awareness of Australian farming.
Kangaroo Cornfield officially launched in Australia in October 2025 before its US release in November. Printed on 300gsm Sovereign Silk FSC mix for the cover, and 170gsm Sovereign Silk FSC mix for the text, then PUR bound.
Newstyle Printing is proud to have been part of George The Farmer’s journey since the George story began back in 2012 and we wish Simone all the very best for her US debut.
